Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Horus University – Egypt received a delegation from Sanda University, China, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, to enhance academic collaboration and explore scientific and cultural cooperation between the two universities.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Hassan El-Shenawy, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Abdel Hady, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Qouta, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Translation. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Pan Xiuping and Prof. Dr. Jiang Fengjiang, Vice Presidents of Sanda University, along with Ms. Li Li, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department at the university.

The visit was also attended by Prof. Dr. Hassan Ragab, the Egyptian Executive Director of the Confucius Institute at Suez Canal University, who reaffirmed his continuous support for Horus University, as well as university officials, deans, and faculty members.

It is worth mentioning that Sanda University was founded in 1992 in Shanghai and offers 44 academic disciplines and six master’s programs, with a student body of 16,000. The university has also established cooperation and academic exchange agreements with 120 universities in 28 countries worldwide.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Qouta explained that the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Translation employs Chinese experts to teach various courses and is working towards signing a memorandum of understanding with Sanda University, which will provide students with scholarship opportunities.

The visit concluded with a tour of the university, during which the delegation was introduced to the university’s facilities, scientific and practical equipment, and laboratories. The delegation expressed their enthusiasm for establishing cooperation agreements between the two universities in the near future.
