Education and Student Affairs Committee
Responsibilities of the Education and Student Affairs Committee Regarding the Following Matters:
First: Planning, Coordination, Organization, and Monitoring Issues:
- To study and prepare the general policy for undergraduate education at the university, organizing it and coordinating among the university’s faculties regarding this matter.
- To establish policies that ensure cooperation and coordination between similar departments and subjects in the university’s faculties concerning undergraduate education.
- To prepare policies that encourage study in certain departments at the undergraduate level.
- To develop policies that facilitate undergraduate students’ access to textbooks and university notes, as well as to encourage authorship in some subjects at this level.
- To provide opinions on the executive regulations for universities regarding matters of study and education at the undergraduate level and student affairs.
- To organize the admission of students at the undergraduate level and determine their numbers.
- To prepare the general system for lectures, practical exercises, and examination activities at the undergraduate level.
- To organize student services at the university.
- To organize cultural, sports, and social activities for students at the university.
- To discuss faculty reports, recommendations from scientific conferences, reports from academic departments at the university, and the annual report from the Vice President for Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs, evaluating the study and examination systems at this level, student services, and various student affairs and reviewing them to ensure their enhancement.
- To monitor the implementation of the educational plan at the undergraduate level and the student affairs plan at the university.
- To compile and analyze all data and statistics related to undergraduate education and students at the university.
Second: Executive Issues:
- To grant exemptions from certain courses or examinations at the undergraduate level.
- To determine examination schedules at the undergraduate level in the university’s faculties.
- The Education and Student Affairs Committee may form permanent or temporary technical committees from staff members and specialists to examine topics within its jurisdiction.
- The committee chair shall inform the university president of the committee’s decisions within eight days of their issuance.
Third: Miscellaneous Issues:
- Issues referred to it by the University Council.
- Other matters within its jurisdiction according to the law.
